How do I register?

If your organisation is part of the UK Access Management Federation (UKAMF) and is on this list of federation members, then you must register with us using the username/password issued to you by your organisation.

If your organisation is not on this list you will have to obtain a username and password from the UK Data Archive. Once these have been supplied to you, you can then register with the UK Data Service. See our information for other UK users for details.

Are there any restrictions on access for users from the voluntary sector?

  • access to controlled data (via our Secure Lab) is restricted to UK academic researchers and PhD students
  • some of the international macrodata available via UKDS.Stat are only available to UK HE/FE users. However, selected international macrodata are available to everyone

Each study has a Discover record and details of any restrictions will be found in the 'Access conditions' section.
