ReShare - the new data repository of the UK Data Service

16 July 2014

A webinar to showcase ReShare, the new online repository from the UK Data Service, for research data.

ReShare is the place where researchers can easily self-deposit collections of research data, to make them available for use by other researchers.

ReShare is for data that are of interest to social sciences and humanities researchers. The primary audience is ESRC grant holders who have a contractual requirement under the ESRC research data policy to archive and share their research data. However, other researchers can also use the repository to publish their data.

The UK Data Service sustainably manages and archives the data collections and reviews data before their release, to ensure they conform with ethical and legal requirements. The data collections are discoverable via the Discover portal of the UK Data Service.

The repository is based on a customised version of EPrints, the open-source digital repository software.

This webinar will show the role, features and functionality of ReShare and how it fits within the data sharing landscape; as well as demonstrate the practical process of depositing data into the repository.

The format will be a 30-minute presentation followed by time for questions. It will take place on Wednesday 16 July 2014 between 16.00 and 17.00.

This webinar is presented by Veerle Van den Eynden, Tom Ensom and Louise Bolger of the UK Data Service Data Management Team based at the UK Data Archive, University of Essex.
