CES2014: Research integrity - a digital curation problem?
13 - 14 November 2014
UK Data Archive, University of Essex
The UK Data Archive will be hosting the CESSDA Expert Workshop in Colchester over 13 and 14 November 2014.
The focus of the workshop will be 'Ensuring research integrity'.
This is a closed event for members of CESSDA only. Places are limited to 20, with no more than two delegates from any one archive, so book as soon as you can, telling us a bit about yourself and the type of data you work with, before the closing date of Friday 7 November 2014.
We, as data archives, have a growing role to play in safeguarding the integrity of data in our custody, in order to ensure open, transparent and robust research. Preserving research data integrity cuts across all of the functions of a data service and this will be reflected in the Workshop sessions which cover the following topics:
The intention of this event is to learn from participants’ practical experience in these areas and to share expertise. The Workshop will be an opportunity to bring together all those actively engaged in research integrity activities, especially those working closely with data.
We encourage early career delegates.
All participants will be expected to contribute by talking about their own archiving experience and discussing and showcasing various areas of their work. The two-day event will be a chance to exchange knowledge, brainstorm new ideas and to hear about current best practices.
Some lighter-weight activities are also planned and, of course, food, drink and great company!
The workshop will start at 10.00 on Thursday 13 November and conclude at 13.00 on Friday 14 November.
To encourage maximum attendance at the event, CESSDA has agreed to support attendance for one staff member per organisation. For further details, please speak to Archive staff on your arrival.
