Guide to UNESCO Innovation Statistics


As the statistical branch of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), the Institute for Statistics (UIS) produces cross-nationally comparable statistics on education, science and technology, culture and communication for more than 200 countries and territories. 

The UIS collects R&D data from more than 200 countries and territories through its biennial research and experimental development survey and partnerships with other statistical organizations, such as Eurostat, Red Iberoamericana de Indicadores de Ciencia y Tecnología (RICYT) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The UNESCO Innovation Statistics dataset includes over 600 indicators for 70+ countries from 2005 onwards.
